What is a wheels off detail?

You may have heard the term wheels off detail but what exactly is it and what does it involve? A wheels off detail is a bolt-on service which involves removing all four of the vehicle's wheels to fully clean and protect them. Removing the wheels to protect them means every inch of the wheel can be cleaned then protected with two layers of coatings from the face of the wheel, the back of the spokes and even the inner rim.   Going to this extreme puts a protective barrier between your expensive wheels and hot corrosive brake dust as well as other contaminants like tar and general road grime. As well as providing a protective barrier having your wheels coated will also make wheels very easy to maintain with hardly any or no chemical assistance at all as long as regular maintenance is carried out.  When a wheels off detail…

Dealership vs Detailer protection

Buying a new car is a very exciting time and you will possibly be thinking about protection to keep that new car look as long as possible. During the sales process, the car salesman may offer you paint protection and you may think this is a great idea as you can get your new car protected straight from the dealership and not have to worry about trying to get it done through an independent detailer, but what are you really buying? In this post we are going to look at the differences between dealership and detailer applied protection.   1. How is the vehicle prepared? How car protection lasts and performs all comes down to how the vehicle is prepared before any protection is applied. Dealerships will give the vehicle a quick wash and then apply the protection, a detailer will give the vehicle a safe wash and dry, remove any…

Are coatings scratch proof?

Want to know how coatings protect your vehicles paint?  There is a lot of misconception around coatings that they are scratch proof and indestructible when in fact that is simply not true. Coating are scratch-resistant however and will help against light scratches but, as you can see from the top picture bigger and deeper scratches can still cause damage. Ths plus side of a coating is though that they are made to take the brunt of any damage caused potentially saving your expensive paintwork underneath.   This car was coated in two layers of Max Protects finest and took a rather nasty scratch (pretty deep) on the rear passenger's door. One machine polish and recoat later and all was back to new saving the customer an expensive repaint and time without there vehicle. Protect your investment with a professional-grade coating!

How to easily clean your wheels

How to easily clean your wheels

Imagine having your wheels this easy to clean!   Back in October 2019 we fully detailed and coated this Bentley Flying Spur, approximately 3 months later the vehicle came into us for its first maintenance wash (its done approximately 300 miles during this time). As you can see even though the Bentley weighs nearly 3 tonnes and has massive brakes to stop it, there was very little brake dust and the wheels were so easy to clean. This is due to the wheels being coated with two layers of coatings front to back making wheel cleaning very quick and easy.
